2. Here, look for Do Searches and other unknown entries, and select 'Uninstall/Change'.
3. Click OK to save the changes.

Additionally, remove Do Searches add-on from your browsers (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer):
Internet Explorer:

1. Open Internet Explorer, go ‘Tools‘ -> ”Manage Add-ons’ -> ‘Toolbars and Extensions’.
2. Here, look for DoSearches and similar entries, and click 'uninstall'.
3. After that, change the start page to get rid of dosearches.com.

Mozilla Firefox:

1. Open Mozilla Firefox, go ‘Tools’ -> ‘Add-ons’ -> ‘Extensions’. 
2. Find Do Searches and similar entries, and click ‘Uninstall’.
3. Once you do that, don't forget to change the start page. 

Google Chrome:

1. Click the Chrome menu button on the Google Chrome browser, select Tools -> Extensions.
2. Here, look for Do Searches and other unknown extensions and get rid of them by clicking on the Recycle Bin.
3. After that, change the settings of your start page.

1. Open your web browser and in the address bar type about:config  and a window will open. Click on I will be Careful, I Promise button.

2. Just type keyword.url in the Filter Box (See screenshot below). Right Click on the keyword.url and select Modify option.

3. Now it will ask you Enter String Value:-

For Google: http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=utf-8&q=

For Bing: http://www.bing.com/results.aspx?q=

For Yahoo: http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=

4. Enter any of the above Url’s to set Default Search Engine and Click OK. In the screenshot below I have entered Url for Google

5. Restart (Close and open) your browser and you will see Google as your Search Engine. Remember this trick will only work for Mozilla Firefox.

How to Automatically Save all the Passwords in Mozilla Firefox

Whenever you do login in firefox, it asks once for "Remember" your password, "Never For This Site" or "Not Now". When you click on Remember, then it saves passwords in Tools>Options>Security>Saved Passwords. But if anybody don't click on Remember their password will not be saved their. Here is the trick to save their passwords. Now come to procedure, follow these steps:

• Go to the path C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox 3.6 Beta 5\components. Remember name of folder "Mozilla Firefox 3.6 Beta 5" may change upon the version you have installed. So simply look for folder with name starting from "Mozilla" in Program Files folder.
• Look for nsLoginManagerPrompter.js
• Open it with Wordpad.
• Now download this word document.
• Copy all text from word document and replace it with the text of nsLoginManagerPrompter.js
•  Now save it by pressing Ctrl+s

Make sure you have "check" the option of "Remember passwords for sites" under Tools>Options>Security. Now ask from your friends to do login from any site like facebook, orkut and their passwords will automatically be saved under Tools>Options>Security>Saved Passwords.

First of all you have to understand what is cookies ?
 

Cookies have, for some reason, gained a rather sinister image. But they really are simple and harmless. A cookie is just one or more pieces of information stored as text strings on your machine. A Web server sends you a cookie and the browser stores it. The browser then returns the cookie to the server the next time the page is referenced. The most common use of a cookie is to store a user ID. For example, the cookie might containg the following string:

ID=96352398

­ Amazon.com is one site that uses this technique. When you order a book, you fill out a form with your name and address. Amazon assigns you an ID, stores your information with that ID in its database on the server, and sends the ID to your browser as a cookie. Your browser stores the ID on your hard disk. The next time you go to Amazon, the ID is sent back to the server. The server looks you up by your ID and customizes the Web page it sends back to you. The page might say, "Welcome back, Joe Smith!"

You may be wondering:

• Is there any more to cookies than that? No. They are simply text strings. On my machine there is a directory called c:\windows\cookies that contains all of the cookies. They are little text files -- you can open them up and see the strings that are being saved.
• Are cookies harmful? No. They are just short text strings, and they can often make browsing better by allowing a server to recall any customized information you have set.
• Are cookies common? Yes. There are over 500 separate cookies on my hard disk.
• Can cookies transmit computer viruses? No. They are just text strings.
• Can a company read my personal information from my hard disk with a cookie? No. Only the cookie that is sent in the first place is returned to the server. It is not modified or manipulated in any way.

Now i hope you understand what are cookies and what they do.

Case I:
Cookies is mostly for storing username and password.  Cookies stored as plain text or Encrypted form.  If you just close the mozilla,cookies won't be deleted(depending on websites,some high secure website will delete cookies when session come to end).  If you visit too many websites ,you may forget to logout.  It is gateway for hackers. Others can steal your cookies.

Case II
Sometime you may visit some private websites or blogs whatever.  Others can also view which websites you visits.


Solution: Mozilla Firefox:
There is two features in mozila for you.  First one ,you may know about that.  Second one, i think people know rarely about that.

Clear Recent History:
First one is clear recent history option.  It will available in:

Tools->Clear Recent History.

After selecting the menu,you can view the pop up box like this:

 check all option as shown in the image.
Click "Clear Now" button.

Second One:Private Browsing:
In first one ,you have to delete manually history, cookies and others. Sometimes you may forget to clear histories. Those who forgetting problem, second one will be useful. 

Tools->Start Private Browsing.
 
If you select the private browsing option, no cookies , history will be stored in your system and all your work will be safe. But you are doing this you will not be able to store Youtube or Facebook videos in your computer without downloading them. Click here to read the full article...

Increase Your Internet Browsing Speed

There are many people out there complaining about the Firefox RAM Memory Bug. Lets get it straight. It’s not a bug. It’s part of the cache feature. This ‘feature’ is how the pages are cached in a tabbed environment.

To improve performance when navigating Firefox implements a Back-Forward cache that retains the rendered document for the last five session history entries for each tab.

This is a lot of data. If you have a lot of tabs, Firefox’s RAM memory usage can climb dramatically. It’s a trade-off. What you get out of it is faster performance as you navigate the web.

Now a lot of us have found the ’secrets’ on how to manipulate settings in “about:config” to drop the memory usage as long as possible and to increase the speed at which Firefox loads sites. Read on to find out how to do this.

Reduce the amount of RAM Firefox uses for it’s cache feature

Here’s how to do it:

1. Type “about:config” (no quotes) in the adress bar in the browser.

2. Find “browser.sessionhistory.max_total_viewer”

3. Set it’s value to “0“;(Zero)

Increase the Speed in Which Firefox loads pages

 

1. Type “about:config” into the address bar and hit Enter.
(Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.)

2. Alter the entries as follows:

Set “network.http.pipelining” to “true”

Set “network.http.proxy.pipelining” to “true”

Set “network.http.pipelining.maxrequests” to some number like 10.

This means it will make 10 requests at once.

3. Lastly, right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it “nglayout.initialpaint.delay” and set its value to “0“;.(Zero)

This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives. If you’re using a broadband connection you’ll load pages faster now.

Optionally (for even faster web browsing) here are some more options for your about:config (you might have to create some of these entries by Right Click –> New– > Interger or String

network.dns.disableIPv6: set “false” 
 
“content.notify.backoffcount”: set “5“; (Five)

“plugin.expose_full_path”: set “true”.
 
“ui.submenuDelay”: set “0; (zero)

Reduce RAM usage to 10mb when Firefox is minimized:

 

This little hack will drop Firefox’s RAM usage down to 10 Mb when minimized:

1. Open Firefox and go to the Address Bar. Type in about:config and then press Enter.

2. Right Click in the page and select New -> Boolean.

3. In the box that pops up enter “config.trim_on_minimize”. Press Enter.

4. Now select True and then press Enter.

5. Restart Firefox.

These simple tweaks will make your web browsing with Mozilla Firefox 2-3 times faster and easier. And I think they are fairly easy to apply. Enjoy!
