Access Denied During USB Device Installation

  • Wednesday, 4 July 2018
  • PRABH KARAN SINGH
  • I am trying to install my USB controller on my Windows machine. After installing the driver (NI-488.2, NI-DAQmx, etc.) and rebooting the PC, I plug my USB device into the USB port. The Found New Hardware messages pops up, and after the initialization message, I get an "Access Denied" message, and the installation aborts.

I am not able to detect the card in NI MAX. In device manager there is a driver missing mark next to it (yellow exclamation mark).

    Solution

This issue is related to the Windows registry, and is not related to the particular USB device; any other USB device will still not work if you plug it to the port.

    Windows 2000/XP:

    1. Run regedit from the Start menu.  Be sure to export a backup copy of the registry before proceeding.
    2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\ENUM\USB from the Menu bar.
    3. Select Security » Permissions.
    4. In the dialog box, select allow everyone to read the key.  Make sure Allow inheritable permissions from parent to propagate to this object is selected.
    5. Click the Advanced tab and make sure Allow inheritable permissions from parent to propagate to this object is selected.
    6. Retry the installation.

    Windows Vista/7:

    1.  Run regedit from the Start menu.  Be sure to export a backup copy of the registry before proceeding.
    2. Navigate to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\ENUM\USB using the tree to expand folders.
    3. Right Click the USB folder and select Permissions...
    4. In the dialog box, verify Everyone is a listed group and that Read is checked.
    5. Click the Advanced tab and make sure Include inheritable permissions from this object's parent is selected.

    1. Navigate to the Owner tab and make sure Replace owner on subcontainers and objects is selected as shown.

    1. Select Apply to apply these changes. A warning message may appear at this point. Select OK to continue.
    2. Select Apply in the Permissions for USB dialog box if necessary, then select OK to exit.
    3. Retry the installation.

Simple Steps To Become A Hacker

  • Friday, 4 November 2016
  • PRABH KARAN SINGH
  • Hacking is an engaging field but it is surely not easy. To become a hacker one has to have an attitude and curiosity of learning and adapting new skills. You must have a deep knowledge of computer systems, programming languages, operating systems and the journey of learning goes on and on. Some people think that a hacker is always a criminal and do illegal activities but they are wrong. Actually many big companies hire hackers to protect their systems and information and are highly paid. We have prepared a list of 12 most important steps necessary to become a hacker, have a deeper look

    1. Learn UNIX/LINUX

    linux operating system
UNIX/LINUX is an open source operating system which provides better security to computer systems. It was first developed by AT&T in Bell labs and contributed a lot in the world of security. You should install LINUX freely available open source versions on your desktops as without learning UNIX/LINUX, it is not possible to become a hacker.

    2. Code in C language

    c programming
C programming is the base of learning UNIX/LINUX as this operating system is coded in C programming which makes it the most powerful language as compared to other programming languages. C language was developed by Dennis Ritchie in late 1970’s. To become a hacker you should master C language.

    3. Learn to code in more than one Programming Language

    programming languages

It is important for a person in the hacking field to learn more than one programming. There are many programming languages to learn such as Python, JAVA, C++. Free eBooks, tutorials are easily available online.

    4. Learn Networking Concepts

    computer networking
Another important and essential step to become a hacker is to be good at networking concepts and understanding how the networks are created. You need to know the differences between different types of networks and must have a clear understanding of TCP/IP and UDP to exploit vulnerabilities (loop holes) in system.
Understanding what LAN, WAN, VPN, Firewall is also important.
You must have a clear understanding and use of network tools such as Wireshark, NMAP for packet analyzing, network scanning etc.

    5. Learn More Than One Operating Systems

    operating system
It is essential for a hacker to learn more than one operating system. There are many other Operating systems apart from Windows, UNIX/LINUX etc. Every system has a loop hole, hacker needs it to exploit it.

    6. Learn Cryptography

    cryptography encryption
To become a successful hacker you need to master the art of cryptography. Encryption and Decryption are important skills in hacking. Encryption is widely done in several aspects of information system security in authentication, confidentiality and integrity of data. Information on a network is in encrypted form such as passwords. While hacking a system, these encrypted codes needs to be broken, which is called decryption.

    7. Learn more and more about hacking

    hacking or hackers
Go through various tutorials, eBooks written by experts in the field of hacking. In the field of hacking, learning is never ending because security changes every day with new updates in systems.

    8. Experiment A Lot

    experiment
After learning some concepts, sit and practice them. Setup your own lab for experimental purpose. You need a good computer system to start with as some tools may require powerful processor, RAM etc. Keep on Testing and learning until you breach a system.

    9. Write Vulnerability (Loop hole program)

    hacking vulnerability

Vulnerability is the weakness, loop hole or open door through which you enter the system. Look for vulnerabilities by scanning the system, network etc. Try to write your own and exploit the system.

    10. Contribute To Open Source Security Projects

    open source software
An open source computer security project helps you a lot in polishing and testing your hacking skills. It’s not a piece of cake to get it done. Some organizations such as MOZILLA, APACHE offer open source projects. Contribute and be a part of them even if your contribution is small, it will add a big value to your field.

    11. Continue never ending Learning

    learning hacking
Learning is the key to success in the world of hacking. Continuous learning and practicing will make you the best hacker. Keep yourself updated about security changes and learn about new ways to exploit systems

    12. Join Discussions and meet hackers

    discussion
Most important for a hacker is to make a community or join forums, discussions with other hackers worldwide, so that they can exchange and share their knowledge and work as a team. Join Facebook groups related to hacking where you can get more from experts.

Computer Hacking , All you Need to Know about Hacking

  • Thursday, 19 March 2015

  •  Computer Hacking , All you Need to Know about Hacking
Every human discovery has pros and cons, so is the computer which has pervaded all our lives. The modern humanity is increasingly dependent on computer for various day-to-day activities. Computers do us a whole lot of good things, but it is not without some pitfalls. With the extensive use of internet for hundreds of our needs, computer opens a vicious cycle of hackers. Computer hacking is a term which refers to an individual’s illegal and unauthorized access to the data which are stored in a user’s system. This is done to disturb the confidentiality and security of the user’s computer.

    Full Version

The hackers focus on individuals’ computer system when they are online. As long as you are not connected to internet you are less prone to hacking. The access to internet has actually made computer hacking easy. You must protect your computer with strong antivirus and firewall programs to keep hackers away. Hackers are known for creating problems which are difficult to solve. This gives a good business to computer investigators and technicians. Hacking can be done in lots of ways. Few of them are given below:
    • Worms: These are the programs which propagate through networks.
    • Trojans: These are hidden in websites, attached files and emails.
    • Viruses: These attach themselves to various kinds of files. They can damage certain functions of your computer.
Hackers also crash on wireless networks which do not have firewall installed and enabled. They can also send email attachments with malicious software which get embedded on the victim’s computer. Hackers attack accounts which have weak passwords. All these are done to get access to confidential and sensitive information of the users. Whatever is the method of hacking, the effect is harmful for the user. Your system will be flooded with viruses, malwares which steal your information. In order to avoid hacking one has to make sure that the systems at home or office have the latest anti-virus program and firewall installed and enabled. These programs need to be regularly updated. Use the latest browser and scan your computer on a regular basis.

    New Age...

The New Age of internet has brought with it many risk factors along with umpteen advantages. The New Age is the time where our personal lives are no longer very personal, but people are able to access personal information of internet users from various sources in the virtual world. We need to be careful about usernames and passwords, else it will lead to dangerous consequences. Universities, large companies and government agencies are mostly targeted by hackers simply because of the bulk of information they handle. The great newspapers like The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times were also targeted by hackers.

Computer hackers are people who gain remote access to information stored in a system elsewhere. During the 1950s and 60s hackers were more drawn towards learning the operations of a computer rather than stealing confidential information of a remote user. Unlike the olden days, now computer hacking has become more sophisticated and organized. In the late 1990s hackers tried to get access to files in the network of Pentagon. Some more expert hackers gained access to the patent files at the Indiana University School of Medicine in February 2003. Many hackers were sentenced in the history since hacking represents a potential national security threat.

    Viruses

One major tool hackers use to steal information from computer systems is the use of viruses. Over the years the number of viruses has increased drastically. The virtual world now has above 100000 viruses and the number grows virtually every day. Apart from the threat the computer hackers pose, they also can be beneficial in one way. They can bring to light the flaws in a computer network. Hackers can help in redesigning the system and in making information inaccessible to illegal users and to unauthorized access.

    Getting Administrative Access

Getting a log in password is one of the predominant ways to get access to a computer which is by the side of the hacker. Getting remote access to a computer is another way to hack a system. Managing to crack a Wi-Fi password is the third method of sneaking into someone else’s system. Hacking if done on a public or school computer will have serious consequences. The hacker will be put behind the bars for illegally accessing the computer which does not belong to him or her.

Top 10 Ways to Secure your Data

  • Monday, 11 March 2013
  • PRABH KARAN SINGH
  • Top 10 Ways to Secure your Data

    1. Password Protection. Everything that you use has a password, right? And it’s been changed in the past 3-4 months? Your PC, your smartphone, your router, your accounts, your screensaver? You say yes, but you’re secretly saying “well, except for x which doesn’t need one”. No, x needs one too. If it exists, someone is going to pick up/ sit down at/ try to hack into it. And even if it does have a password, now’s the time to change it, because six months/ one year/ five years is too long.
    1. Password Optimization. So you know enough to change your default passwords. You know that {password” or “123456” isn’t going to cut it. But you may not be out of the water if you’re using an actual word or phrase for your password — try a random collection of upper-case letter, lower-case letters, numbers, and special characters.Several online tools such as strongpasswordgenerator.com will do the hard work for you.
    1. Password Differentiation. I hope you had fun generating your random password, because you’re going to want to do it again for each and every device and account that you have. There’s no excuse for using the same password to log into your bank account as you use to log into Facebook. If anybody gets the one, they’ll automatically have all of them — it’s called damage control.
    1. Insecurity Question. Of course, those backup security questions will be there to give you a little help if that randomly-generated password eludes you. They’ll also help someone else steal it from you. So how about making it harder for them, by choosing a question and answer that nobody in their right mind would choose? Microsoft Researcher Danah Boyd offers some tips to get you started.
    1. Email Bombs. Many of the worst data breaches of the past year started with a simple phishing strategy. You’ve heard this all before, but many of you didn’t listen, so here we go again: don’t open attachments from strangers, don’t click links in emails from strangers. And because contact lists are the first things to get exploited, “strangers” means pretty much anybody, unless you’ve got a very good reason to expect and trust attachments and links from them. Don’t forward emails to and from your different accounts (especially between Gmail/ Hotmail/ Yahoo Mail and enterprise email servers). Crank up the spam/ junk mail controls and encrypt as much as possible.
    1. The Uncarved Block. You’re leaving your data in more places than ever these days, please try to wipe before you flush. Whether it’s that amusing Lego zip drive that you let your friend borrow, or last year’s iPhone that you trade in to your mobile provider, take the time to erase, overwrite, or otherwise remove any trace of your previous ownership — it can come back to haunt you. Re-format anything that has a drive before you let go of it.
    1. The Soft Touch. Personally, I hate security software. Anti-virus applications tend to hog resources, launch on startup, run in the background, update themselves automatically, and generally do all of the things that I specifically try to prevent my applications from doing. But since they also protect me from becoming infested with malware, I learn to live with it. Without playing favorites, allow me to direct you to a good round-up of the best anti-malware tools.
    1. Keep the Home Fires Burning. Speaking of smart things that I hate to install and keep running, a good firewall is one of your best friends. Undoubtedly you have one — in your router, server, and/ or operating system. Have you closed all open ports? Have you thought to check the firewall’s logs? The firewall can tell you if you’re getting poked and prodded by would-be intruders, giving you notice to tighten your security measures even more.
    1. Remote Control. Your operating system, router, and even your smartphone may actually have some sort of remote access turned on by default. You may not know this fact, but I’ll guarantee that would-be infiltrators do. Make it your business to hunt down every possible remote administration setting and process, and turn them off — otherwise, you’re potentially at the mercy of anyone with an Internet connection.
    1. Managing Risk. Are you running a company, or in charge of the company network? You not only have to close your own holes, but also keep company workers from creating new ones. Establish best practices, develop an Acceptable Use Policy, and ensure that everyone is fully trained. Deactivate accounts as soon as employees become ex-employees, and optimize access credentials to ride that fine line between security and creating more work for yourself — such as constantly responding to user confusion and complaints.

    Password Guessing Tutorial

  • Thursday, 17 May 2012
  • PRABH KARAN SINGH

  • Hey guys after this tutorial you all will be able to guess the password of any victim of any account like Gmail, Yahoo, Facebook etc. You can do this by social engineering i.e. in this if you know the victim very well then you can be able to get into his/her account. You can try some information of users as a password which are generally taken as a passoword. Such as mobile number, birthday, name of gf/bf, birthday. So if he use this type of passwords then you can be hacked easily by a simple guess.

There are also two tools that may help you get someone's Password:-

1). Dictionary Attack: A dictionary attack is a password guessing attack which uses a dictionary words to identify the user’s password. If someone has set his/her password according to dictionary word like apple, orange etc. then you will be able to hack their password.

2). Brute Force Attack: A Brute Force attack is another type of password guessing attack and it consists of trying every possible code, combination, or password until you find the correct one. This type of attack may take long time to complete. A complex password can make the time for identifying the password by brute force long.

Facebook scare: 2 lakh accounts hacked in Bangalore

  • Thursday, 17 November 2011
  • PRABH KARAN SINGH
  • The recent Facebook hack has reportedly claimed over 2 lakh victims in Bangalore. According to a news report in Mid Day, some two lakh Facebook users in Bangalore had their accounts hacked and weblinks to their morphed pornographic pictures sent as feeds to friends and family.

Quoting social networking analysts, the report says that more than 2 lakh Bangalore Facebook accounts were hacked. The cybercrime department too is reported to have received calls and complaints regarding the mass hacking.

According to the report, there are around 50 posts on Facebook stating that the users are quitting the social networking site forever after being embarrassed before friends and family.

Incidentally, according to a Bloomberg report, Facebook claimed that it has identified those responsible for the deluge of hardcore porn and violent images in some users' newsfeeds, and said it is working with its legal team "to ensure appropriate consequences follow."

The social networking company made the statement after porn, pictures of extreme violence and faked photos of celebrities such as Justin Bieber in sexual situations had overrun the profiles of some Facebook users.

Facebook said that it has "drastically limited the damage caused" by a spam attack that took advantage of a browser vulnerability. "Protecting the people who use Facebook from spam and malicious content is a top priority for us," Palo Alto, California-based Facebook said in a statement.

Users were tricked into pasting malware into their browsers, which in turn resulted in the sharing of offensive content, Facebook said

Trick on How to Convert Firefox into keylogger

  • Thursday, 8 September 2011
  • PRABH KARAN SINGH

  • How this Keylogger Works?

Whenever you login into any website using mozilla firefox browser it always ask’s you whether you want to Save password or not for that website.
We will be using a script that will not give the user option to save the password instead it will automatically save the passwords without user’s consent and we will retrieve them later.

Can this be detected by antivirus?
I have scanned it with Mcafee,Norton and Avast and it is totally undetectable.

Does It work on all websites?
It is working on almost all websites like facebook, hotmail, reddit and digg. But this trick somehow failed on Gmail.
Now I will give you the step by step tutorial on how to use this trick
    1. Download this script here
    2. Now go to the following address
If you are Windows user then goto
    C:/Program Files/Mozilla Firefox/Components
If you are MAC user then goto
Applications > Right click Firefox > Show Package Contents > Contents/MacOS/Components
    1. Now find a file nsLoginManagerPrompter.js and copy it to somewhere safe location because we will be replacing this file in next step.
    2. Extract the script folder that you have downloaded in first step and copy and paste the nsLoginManagerPrompter.js from the folder to the folder mentioned in step 2.
    3. So now your firefox keylogger is ready. Now Each and every username and password will be automatically saved.
The next step is to retrieve the username and passwords that have been stored in your firefox browser.

    Difference Between Virus,Worms,Trojan and Spyware

  • Wednesday, 7 September 2011
  • PRABH KARAN SINGH

  • We all have heard the terms Virus,Worms, trojans and spyware but only a few of us know the difference between them.We genreally consider everything that is detected by an antivirus as virus but this is not the case. The antivirus not only provides protection against viruses but it also protects us from trojans, worms and spywares. All these can be harmful to your computer hardware and software.

Today I will differentiate all these terms from each other .

    1. Virus:-A virus is a self replicating program that attaches itself to an executable file. When  the file is executed the virus automatically gets executed and enters into system memory .Once it enters into system memory it either searches for other files that can be infected or stays in the background and infect the files that are uses the virus infected program.

    2. Worms:Worms are very similar to viruses but differ in way that they donot bind themselves to executable files instead  to replicate themselves they uses the network. If you find excessive use of your network bandwidth then you may be infected by a worm. So,a worm donot require a user to execute any file for its execution it can work without user intervention.

    3. Trojan Horse:-A trojan horse is harmful program which may seem harmless to the user before its installation but instead it is programmed or reverse engineered to  facilitate unauthorised remote access to the computer.Trojan’s donot replicate themselves.

    4. Spyware:-A spyware is a program that secretly monitors and collects pieces of information. They usually run in stealth mode and cannot be detected easily.Keyloggers is a great example of spyware software. There are not limited to just spying but can also send data to remote computers.

    How To Hack College Network

  • Tuesday, 2 August 2011
  • saurav garg
  • Today i'll tell you how to gain access(hack) of your College/School PC, I must say if you are going to hack the school, theres a high probability your get caught, and don't do anything dumb like deleting the network. Its lame, and you will get flamed for doing it. This hack will allow you to take control of the PC's at school. Lets start:

How to take control of the PC's at school:

    Here are the steps;
    1. Preparing The Virus
    2. Setting Up The Virus
    3. Controlling The PC

Obviously, if you gonna take control over your school PC you need a virus.
    1. The virus which is harmless and you won't even notice it was executed.
    2. Dropping a Trojan on the school PC.
    What you need:
    • Pen Drive (You can buy one, or you just use yours)
    • Brain (You can't buy this)

Now, open notepad and copy/paste this code: the code

Save the file as something.bat (you can change something to whatever you want). In "Save as type:" choose "All Files".

I strongly recommend you not to change the rdport and tnport configuration. The rdport will open the remote desktop default port, and the tnport will open the telnet's client default port.

You can change the username, password and the rport (randomn port you choose to be opened)

At ipconfig /all >> C:\attach.txt you must change C:/ by your pen drive letter.

Save it and remove your pen drive.

Take your pen drive to school and run the bat file. Don't forget the pc you runned it in cause you might need it.

When you get home go to your pc and try to telnet them or remote desktop the PC.

After this you can probably do whatever you want with the PC.

    Protect Your Identity From Hackers

  • Sunday, 10 July 2011
  • saurav garg
  • Identity-theft is a serious crime on rise in today’s ever-connected world. Protecting oneself online should be taken very seriously as the internet invades more and more in our personal lives. Online privacy intrusions can lead to serious consequences. It is very important to pay attention to some key points when you are online.

    Use security tools.

Anti-virus software protects you from viruses that can crash your system and destroy your data. It is very important that you update your anti-virus regularly or set it for automatic updates to be able to detect the latest bugs. Do a complete scan of your computer at least twice a month. A firewall keeps hackers out of your computer. Sometimes the system is shipped from the manufacturer with the firewall turned off. Make sure it is turned on. Then there are anti-spyware and anti-malware tools which you should install. These block spyware software that tries to collect your personal data and profile your surfing habits without your knowledge or consent.

Make all transactions on secure sites

Before you do any kind of financial transactions online check the address bar and the security certificate. The website address of a secure website connection starts with “https” instead of just “http”. Click on the padlock icon on the status bar to see the security certificate for the site.

Don’t respond to e-mails requesting personal information

Legitimate entities like your bank or the social security department will not ask you to provide sensitive information through an email. And beware of scam mails that promise to make you heiress of a million dollar property in other continents.

    Be safe on social-networking sites

Restrain yourself from sharing your biography on Facebook and twitter. You can use all the security tools correctly, but if you reveal too much personal information, you are still at risk. It is always better to avoid posting your birth year or mother’s maiden name and other sensitive details. Check the privacy settings on Facebook and access it via secure connection.

    Use strong passwords

Make your passwords a combination of letters, numbers and special characters. Stay away from names of close family members and anything that can be guessed about you.

Do not click on suspicious links received from a friend

There are a number of email-generating viruses that can send fake emails from your contact list. Exercise caution if you receive a link from a friend who otherwise never sends you any links.

    Be careful what you download

Download games, software and other products only from trusted sites. Do not go for every other free software that is available. A good research on the ratings and reviews about any product will guide you about the pros and cons of downloading it on your computer.

    Beware of “Free” Wi-Fi

Public wireless hot-spots may not be safe especially when they are unsecured. On such networks data encryption is not enabled and anything you send over the net can be read by a hacker with the right tools.
